Abstract: Compare and evaluate cases when removing refractory layers in a 300 MWe down-fired boiler using CFD simulation method. The temperature fields show that when cutting the refractory area, the temperature of the center of the fire chamber tends to decrease. In addition, cutting the fire belt area also reduces the possibility of ash formation in the boiler.
